Food pyramid EIDOS

The Eidos food pyramid shows the importance of the food groups in the diet.

All kind of foods in the Eidos food pyramid should be consumed in culinary quantities. Consuming a food in excessive amounts may cause intoxication or adverse effects, while consuming a food in small portions will not produce the desired effect.

The spices placed at the base of the Eidos food pyramid means that these foods should be used as much as possible to season all meals throughout the day. Spices play a vital role in preventing, reversing and helping to cure multiple diseases and ailments. Spices are rich in phytochemicals and nutraceuticals compounds making them as functional foods. Seasoning food with spices avoids the consumption of salt, an element detrimental to health. The more spices used to season foods, the better!

In the next step are foods that provide good quality calories. The recommended oils for dressing foods are hemp, canola, mustard and flaxseed oils. Throughout the day it is important to consume some nuts and seeds as a source of minerals and good quality fatty acids, and it is also recommended to always consume whole foods that are made with whole seeds.

Main dishes should contain a good amount of vegetables, mainly raw. Main dishes should be accompanied by whole foods, white meats such as chicken and rabbit meat, as well as fish and seafood. At each meal you should eat at least vegetables from three different groups.

Also, it is recommended to eat at least three different fruits per day. Avoid fruit juices because important nutrients such as fiber are lost and they in add have an excessive amount of glucose due to the amount of squeezed fruit contained in a glass of juice.

When consuming eggs, preferably consume quail eggs. Each quail egg contains three times the nutrients of chicken eggs and they have important nutraceutical components that are very beneficial to your health. You can consume one egg per day since each egg has less than 300 mg of cholesterol allowed per day. One quail egg per day helps greatly for promoting an optimal health.

Greek yogurt, kefir and low-fat cheeses should be consumed daily.

Only use functional sweeteners such as xylitol and stevia to sweeten beverages and foods.

Avoid consuming foods that are at the top of the Eidos food pyramid because they are poisonous foods that contribute to the development of metabolic syndrome and its associated diseases such as diabetes, obesity, cholesterol, cardiovascular diseases and different types of cancer.

Vegans who do not consume even animal products must be under medical supervision to meet nutrient deficiencies such as amino acids and vitamin B12 among other nutritional requirements.

The only way to guarantee a healthy life is to include in the daily diet a wide variety of foods from the different food groups, except for the unhealthy food group at the top of the food pyramid, which should only be consumed occasionally and in small quantities.

Eat at least five meals distributed throughout the day: breakfast, mid-morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack and dinner.

For having a good daily hydration combine intakes of different teas throughout the day. Diferent types of teas contain a variety of different phytochemicalscompounds that help to have a better health, promote metabolic functions and, teas with adaptogenic properties such as ginger tea, hibiscus tea, jasmine tea, linden tea and chamomile tea help to induce and have a restful sleep.

Perform at least 30 minutes of aerobic exercise per day such as walking, cycling, running, etc.
